Jerusalem | Islamic Wall PrintPremium Luster
If you could have any view out your window, what would it be? Sacred Windows features designs of some places we would love to see out our window, and this design is of Jerusalem, the city of our first Qibla (direction of prayer).
Just as we did for the rest of the Sacred Windows collection, we studied current and historic context to illustrate two of Islam's important sites in Jerusalem - Masjid Al Aqsa and the Dome of the Rock. During the Prophet Muhammad's journey to Jerusalem and the Heavens during Israa & Miraj, our Ummah received the gift of daily prayers, one of the five fundamental pillars of Islam. Masjid Al Aqsa, the direction towards which Muslims first prayed, and Dome of the Rock, the point where the Buraaq ascended with the Prophet to the Heavens, serve as physical reminders to us about the Prophet's ethereal journey and the blessing of our daily spiritual practice - a time for us to connect with our Creator.
